This fight reminds us of …
The remarkable thing about this fight is clearly the age difference. The last 14 year age gap we can remember goes back to 3/11/2017 on a UFC Fight Night. The 37 year old Francisco Trinaldo took on the 23 year old Kevin Lee. Three minutes and two seconds into the second round, Lee was able to get to Trinaldo’s back and won the match via rear naked choke.
Robot Rationale:
Three factors have the LionBot loving the underdog. First, he loves an undefeated fighter. Second, although Romero is one of the more powerful fighters in the division, he is conservative in terms of total strikes attempted, and on balance we love aggression. Last, age gaps in the double digit range have historically been a challenge for the older fighter to overcome.
